Rent Apartment in 1 km from Gellert Baths

This is one of our old apartments, we love it so much and we have recently renovated it. The apartment is located in the center, in district 5th, quite close to the Great Market Hall (Nagy Vásárcsarnok  in Hungarian) . So, you will not stay without quality food on a good price if you rent this apartment . One of the main advantages of this apartment is its proximity to the Gellert city baths. It's about 1,1 km from the apartment to Gellert baths on foot, if we belive to google maps.

The Gellert bath complex was built between 1912 and 1918 in a modern style. The main buildings of the bath complex were severely destroyed during the Second World War, but then it got restored. Healing waters in this place can be found in the 13th century and in the Middle Ages there was already a balneological hospital. During the reign of the Ottoman Empire, Turkish baths were built on this place. The magical source of healing was used by the Turks in the 16-17th centuries. The bath was called Sárosfürdő ("dirty" bath), because mineral mud settled on the bottom of the pools.

The last reconstruction of the Gellert baths ended in 2008 and now it is in the top 5 baths in Budapest, and in terms of luxury of decoration they are probably ahead of the Szechenyi baths. The reconstruction of 2008 served to restore the original splendor of the bath.

Pools and treatments
The Gellert complex includes thermal baths, which are small pools with water from mineral hot springs of Gellert Hill. Water contains calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate, alkali, chloride, sulfate and fluorine. Medical indications for water include degenerative joint diseases, problems with the spine, chronic and acute inflammation of the joints, problems with the spinal disc, neuralgia, vasoconstriction, and circulatory disorders; problems with inhalation for the treatment of asthma and chronic bronchitis. The water temperature is between 35 ° C to 40 ° C. The thermal bath is beautifully decorated with mosaic tiles. Gellert Spa is famous for its main hall with a gallery and a glass roof, built in the Art Nouveau style.

The complex also includes saunas and small pools (divided by floor), an outdoor pool that can create artificial waves every 30 minutes, and an effervescent pool. The complex also has a Finnish sauna with a cold pool and there are massage services. It has a website with prices and services, in English

It is really simple from the apartment to get to the baths: either on foot a little more than a kilometer along the Liberty bridge (in the region of 15 minutes) or on trams 47 or 49 from Kálvin tér square, which will take the same time  or even longer.
